This is probably one of the most important topics that I’ve discussed since starting the blog. I want to talk about decision-making and execution. How many of you have had a decision to make in your life with two options and you sat there for hours thinking about which one to choose? You’ve weighed all the pros and cons of each option and you simply can’t decide which way to go. A big decision can make your business or your life come to a complete standstill. And this is a major issue. You need to stop thinking so much because it really is a waste of time. Let me explain what I mean.
I want to switch gears and talk about execution for a minute and then I will tie the two together at the end. Ever have an idea that you are absolutely positive is a $1 million idea? I’m sure you have. So why are we all not millionaires running multi-million dollar businesses? The answer is execution. An idea without execution is worthless. To be honest you don’t even need that great of an idea, if you can execute properly you’re more than likely going to succeed.
So why am I talking about decision-making and execution? If you have a decision to make with two viable options, you need to stop wasting time and just pick one. At the end of the day it all comes down to execution. If you can execute on the decision you have made, you are going to succeed. Think about it. If you have two options for a decision that you have to make and you feel like you could spend hours thinking about which one to choose, don’t you think both are probably pretty good options? Instead of wasting all that time, you should make your decision right away and focus all your time and effort on execution. I guarantee if you start doing this in your business and in your life, you will see incredible results.
I know this is a short post today but I can’t stress enough how big of a topic this is. We all have ideas, we all have decisions that need to be made, and we spend so much time trying to figure out which option is best. Funny thing is, half the time we probably make the wrong decision anyway. So next time you’re faced with a decision I would encourage you to dive in, roll up your sleeves and execute. You will never succeed if you don’t start, and even in failing (which we are all afraid of) there is still more to learn than having never acted at all. Stop making excuses, get on your way.
